FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes vacuum-plasma application of a wear-resistant coating, which consists of titanium nitride or carbonitride of titanium, chrome, aluminium, silicone and zirconium at their ratio, wt %: titanium 56.76, aluminium 9.25, silicon 0.84, zirconium 21.76, chrome 11.39, and coating is applied by three cathodes located horizontally in same plane, at that the first cathode is made of titanium and silicon alloy, second cathode is made out of titanium and aluminium alloy and is opposed to the first cathode, while third cathode is made of zirconium and chrome and positioned between the first and second cathodes.
EFFECT: improved cutting ability.
