FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to test angular parameters of a gas distributing mechanism (GDM) of an internal combustion engine (ICE) at test bench running-in of the repaired ICE and at life diagnostics in operation. An ICE GDM diagnostic device includes an angle indicator for measurement of a turning angle of a crank shaft (CS) from the moment of opening of an inlet valve of the first supporting cylinder (FSC) to the position of the shaft, which corresponds to the upper dead point (UDP) of FSC, a disk with a calibrated dial connected to ICE CS, a fixed indication arrow (IA) installed so that IA point can be located opposite the calibrated dial of the rotating disk. The device includes a CS position sensor which corresponds to FSC UDP, and a valve position sensor, a stroboscope, with a high-voltage transformer and a discharge device, which are controlled via a control unit (CU) with the CS position sensor. Each valve position sensor is connected by means of CU to a power supply unit (PSU) and provides, at change of its position, formation of a light pulse of the stroboscope relative to the fixed IA. Difference of fixed values at operation of the valve sensor and at operation of UDP sensor corresponds to a numerical value of CS turning angle from the moment of opening of the valve to the moment corresponding to the moment when the piston of the first cylinder enters UDP.
EFFECT: reduction of error of measurements.
