FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and provides a method of producing an L-amino acid, such as L-arginine, via fermentation using Escherichia bacteria, modified to contain an argJ gene which codes an enzyme having at least ornithine acetyltransferase activity, wherein the bacteria are modified to contain disrupted-activity N-acetylornithine deacetylase.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain L-arginine with high efficiency.
