FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of acrylonitrile copolymers which are widely used in production of carbon fibre. The method for synthesis of copolymers containing acrylonitrile and acrylic acid monomer links includes mixing monomers in a solvent medium while adding a radical polymerisation initiator - carbon dioxide - and heating to temperature of 50-100°C, wherein content of acrylic acid and methyl acrylate with respect to acrylonitrile is 0.5-4.0 mol % and 0.5-5.0 mol %, respectively.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain copolymers of acrylonitrile with acrylic acid and methyl methacrylate of a given composition using an environmentally safe, cheap and energy efficient method.
