FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to the field of instrumentation and can be used for determination of geometrical parameters of cross-sections of bodies with quasicylindrical shape, in particular of transplants and implanted shanks of garden cultures. The method of determination of geometrical parameters of a body cross-section consists in that two distances from two base points to the respective reference points on a contour of the body cross-section are measured and the section length between these two reference points is determined by subtraction of the measured distances from distance between the base points. Measurements and calculations are performed at simultaneous movement of the base points perpendicular to the line connecting them through each identical movement intervals, then by calculations the coordinates of all obtained reference points and geometrical parameters of the body cross-section are determined. The device for the method implementation contains two laser triangulate distance sensors, and also the element checking the perpendicularity of the device movement with respect to the line of vectors of measurements of distance sensors, the path clock pulses sensor initiating the measurements of distance sensors and the microprocessor instrumentation unit.

EFFECT: expansion of functionality due to additional determination of coordinates of points of a contour and geometrical parameters of body cross-section.
