FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method for determining geometric parameters of the cross section of the object consists in measuring the distance from the base point located at a fixed distance from a central point located within the controlled cross section of the object to the corresponding control points on the object section contour towards this central point during rotation of controlled object cross section around an axis passing through the central point perpendicular to the cross-section plane, starting from the initial angular position at similar angular intervals within one turn, and determining the length of the sections between the central and control points by subtracting the measured distances from the distance between the base and the central points. Then, the coordinates of all obtained control points and the geometric parameters of the object cross section are determined: the length of the contour, the area, the maximum and minimum orthogonal dimensions, and their ratio - the form index.

EFFECT: reduced labour intensity of determining the complex of geometric parameters of the object cross section.
