FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, namely to a coaxial waveguide resonator for measuring physical properties of dielectric substance. The waveguide resonator is made in the form of a coaxial resonator with one of its end sections in the form of a below-cutoff coaxial waveguide and another end section identical to the first end section or made in the form of a metal wall of the coaxial resonator. At the same time, the below-cutoff coaxial resonator has an external conductor of the same diameter as a diameter of an external conductor of the coaxial resonator, and an internal conductor of the below-cutoff coaxial waveguide has an increased diameter compared to a diameter of an internal conductor of the coaxial resonator. In this case, electromagnetic oscillations of one of the highest types Hmnp (m=0, 1, 2, …; n=2, 3, …; p=1, 2, …) of the coaxial resonator are excited in the resonator, in particular the lowest type H021 or Emnp (m=0, 1, 2, …; n=1, 2, …; p=1, 2, …) type, in particular the lowest type E011.
