FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to organic chemistry, namely to a method for producing naphtho[1,2,3-cd]indol-6(2H)-ones of the general formula wherein R means a hydrogen or chlorine atom from the substance based on 6H-6-oxoanthra[1,9-cd]isoxazole differing by the fact that synthesis is one-staged; an initial substance is suspended in dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO), heated at a temperature of at least 120°C with an air condenser; once the reaction is terminated, the reaction mixture is cooled down to 50°C; 10% sodium methylate is added and kept for 70-80°C for 15 min; then an aqueous solution of acetic acid is added in an amount equal to the amount of the prepared mixture; the prepared green-yellow suspension is heated at 80°C until diluted; that is followed by adding water, heating to 95°C and cooling to 18-20°C; precipitated naphtho[1,2,3-cd]indol-6(2H)-one is filtered, washed in an aqueous alcohol, alcohol; the precipitation is additionally cleaned.
EFFECT: what is developed is the new method for producing naphtho[1,2,3-cd]indol-6(2H)-one differing by lower cost of solvents and reduced reaction time.
