FIELD: physics, atomic power.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to travelling wave nuclear fission reactors. The invention describes a system for controlling reactivity, a method of controlling reactivity in a reactor and a programmable device which enables to determine at least two reactivity parameters and results of applying a controllably movable rod. The control method includes determining at least one reactivity parameter, comparing said parameter with a target parameter and determining results of applying a controllably movable rod. Said application of the rod is defined as sensitive to the comparison of the determined and target reactivity parameters.
EFFECT: providing appropriate fine control of reactivity in a travelling wave nuclear reactor.
