SUBSTANCE: invention relates to controlling reactivity in a nuclear reactor. Illustrated versions describe a reactivity control system for a nuclear fission reactor, having a fast neutron spectrum, particularly for a travelling wave nuclear fission reactor. The system employs a controlled movable rod, which includes neutron absorbent material and nuclear fuel fertile material. Different parts of the rod differ on concentration of the absorbent and fertile material.
EFFECT: enabling fine control of reactivity in response to change in one of parameters thereof.
