SUBSTANCE: method comprises using locking device that can arrest counterweight on lift trunk guide. To this end, bolts that fasten upper shoes are removed from counterweight upper beam sides' holes and locking devices are fitted therein to lock counterweight in appropriate guides. Locking device comprises carcass with split joint with counterweight beam, fixed stop, fixed block with chamfer, wedge with one chamfer and wedge drive. Opposite surfaces of aforesaid wedge are in contact with appropriated surfaces of the guide.
