FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of microbiology. The method of detection and calculation of viable microorganisms in a sample includes: (1) contact of the said microorganisms of the said sample with reduction compounds and a growth medium, (2) incubation of the stage (1) and (3) product and calculation of the said microorganisms. The microorganisms relate to species Legionella pneumophila, and the reduction compounds contain: (a) serine; (b) threonine, (c) calcium chloride, (d) magnesium chloride, (f) glutamic acid and (g) pyruvic acid. The invention also discloses a set for the detection and calculation of viable microorganisms of Legionella pneumophila species in the sample, supposedly containing the said microorganisms.
EFFECT: application of the claimed inventions makes it possible to improve the growth rate for a multitude of Legionella pneumophila strains.
