FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: this invention relates to a device for electric capacity measurement. The device comprises a current sensor (2), an electronic measurement and rectification circuit (7), a processing circuit (10) and a transmitter (11), connected with the processing circuit to send an electric capacity message into a receiver (5) of electric capacity measurement. An integrating capacitor (9) of electric current is connected with the current sensor (2) via a rectifier facility (8). Into a switch (13) a command is sent from a threshold value detector (12), to initiate supply of power into the processing circuit (10) and the transmitter by means of electric capacity accumulated in the capacitor, when its voltage (Vc) exceeds the pre-determined threshold value (Svc). Afterwards the electric capacity message is sent, which represents electric capacity quantity. The method to measure electric capacity includes a stage of transmission (63) of the electric capacity message, when capacitor voltage reaches the threshold voltage (Svc).

EFFECT: possibility to measure electric capacity without use of an external power supply source.
