FIELD: nuclear physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear power engineering, particularly, to fuel assembly elements of PWR reactors. This spacer grid comprises ring, tubular cells each including five-six faces connected with similar faces of adjacent cells or with ring by welding and three faces arranged between flat faces for contact with fuel assembly elements. Crimp-like recess is made at a portion of height of said elements directed inside said cell. Every crimp is located at mid height of appropriate face. Mirror plane of every crimp is located at 0-30 degrees to cell axis while flat faces connected by welding stay in contact over their entire surface. Besides, part of cells is connected with said ring by welding over the face intended for contact with fuel assembly element at its section abutting on ends without crimp.
EFFECT: resistance of cells against load over the entire cell height, ruled out dead zones.
