FIELD: woodworking industry.
SUBSTANCE: in manufacturing fire-resistant plates the relative humidity of wood chips is measured. The value of the desired relative humidity of the wood chips is in the range between 5% and 20%, preferably - between 8% and 20%. The relative humidity of the wood chips is increased if the measurement indicates that they have relative humidity which is less than the desired. If the measurement indicates that the chips have relative humidity which is larger than the desired, the chips are dried. Then the wood chips are immersed in an aqueous solution of the fire-resistant chemical composition. The wood chips are separated from each other by stirring the mixture of chips and the aqueous solution of the fire-resistant chemical composition. The wood chips are at least partially dried to relative humidity in the range between 4% and 10%, preferably - between 4% and 8%. The binder is applies on dry impregnated wood chips. The plates of a predetermined shape of the chips are formed.
EFFECT: increased strength of fire-resistant plates.
