FIELD: physics, optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treatment of plant materials, particularly devices for treating growing plants with optical radiation. The disclosed device is a container in which there are several chambers that are light-insulated from each other and are mounted in a multiple-deck structure. Each chamber is provided with its own vessel with a substrate for growing plants, a light source with its own wavelength and its own video camera. The light source on a radiator bracket and the video camera are mounted on walls of the chamber at right angles to each other. Growing plants are illuminated with the light source through the transparent side wall of the vessel, and surveillance with the video camera is carried out through another perpendicular side wall. The electric power supply and the control and monitoring unit, which are common for all chambers, are mounted on the same board and inside the container.

EFFECT: invention enables to investigate phototropic and gravitropic reactions of plants to illumination with different types of light in the visible and invisible spectrum at different gravities, in both ground conditions and near-zero gravity conditions in spacecraft.
