FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment, it comprises a method of measurement of floating potential in plasma and can be used for diagnostics of parameters of gas discharge plasma. For implementation of the method the probe is placed inside the solenoid the sizes of which are much less than plasma sizes, and its design provides establishment of the probe potential at the level of space potential in the place of its placement. It is achieved by a local magnetising of electrons in the solenoid in such a way that to the probe they can arrive only by diffusion across magnetic induction lines. In this case at achievement of sufficient size of magnetic induction the flow of electrons to the probe is decreased down to the value of the flow of ions, and the probe potential becomes equal to plasma potential in this space point.
EFFECT: measurement of floating potential in plasma.
