FIELD: textiles, paper.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical and paper industry, as well as to agriculture and can be used in preparation of paints, paper, fertilisers. The method of production of self-binding pigment particles comprises the following steps: a) preparing an aqueous suspension of mineral pigment material; b) preparing at least one polymeric binder comprising carboxymethyl cellulose having a degree of carboxylation of 0.4-2.0, and an intrinsic viscosity in 3-300 ml/g; c) mixing the binder with the aqueous suspension of a mineral pigment material and correction of solids content in the resulting suspension so that it constitutes 45-80 wt %, based on the total weight of the suspension; d) grinding the aqueous suspension. The mineral pigment material is selected from calcium carbonate, dolomite, clay, talc, kaolin, mica, mixed structures of talc/calcium carbonate, talc/titanium dioxide or calcium carbonate/titanium dioxide. The resulting suspension with a high content of solid material does not require further concentration.
