FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to electric traction systems of vehicles powered by power supply lines of various types. The power conversion system for vehicles contains at least two DC voltage lines (5, 6, 7), several network power converters (8) for conversion of AC input voltage into DC supply voltage, the feeding transformer (21) for supply of auxiliary supply voltage and several auxiliary power converters (20). The switching unit (11, 13) is implemented with a possibility, in the first operating mode, of supply of available AC voltage to the converters (8), and in the second operating mode, supply of DC supply voltage to the lines (5, 6, 7). The system contains the switch (22) for connection, in the second operating mode of, at least, one of converters (8) to the feeding transformer (21). The method consists in: AC input voltage powers the converters (8) in the first operating mode. DC input supply voltage power the lines (5, 6, 7) in the second operating mode. At least one of converters (8) is connected to the feeding transformer (21) in the second operating mode.

EFFECT: decrease of costs of supply of auxiliary voltage for powering the consumers in vehicles.
