FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the power supply of auxiliary equipment of vehicles. The power supply device of a rail vehicle comprises an electrical on-board network and a converter unit connected to the on-board network, including a converter for supplying electricity to the on-board network and an intermediate circuit connected to the converter for supplying the converter with electricity. In this case, the power supply device contains an uninterruptible power supply source connected to the intermediate circuit to supply electricity to the intermediate circuit. A rail vehicle with a power supply device and a method of operating the power supply device are also claimed.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at providing a reliable power supply to the electric on-board network of the rail vehicle.
