FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes dispersing material, mixing with a preservative, packing the obtained mixture in a container and sealing. A catholyte is obtained by treating sea water in the cathode chamber of an electrolysis cell until achieving pH 12.6-12.8 and redox potential of minus 800 mV to minus 1000 mV relative to a silver chloride comparison electrode.
EFFECT: preservation of shell-containing material in ship conditions.
