SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and comprises a method for the production of yeast, comprising a high content of sulphur-containing compound, selected from a group comprising cysteine, γ-glutamylcysteine, glutathione, and cysteinylglycine, as compared to the parental yeast strain, which exhibited adenine auxotrophy, and modification for expressing gene MET25, comprising treatment of the parental strain with a mutagenic agent, distribution of the modified yeast over the growth medium, comprising 25 mg/l or less adenine, for growing yeast colonies, sampling of the yeast colonies having more red colour as compared to the premodified parental strain, and sampling of yeast with higher cell content of the sulphuric compound as compared to the parental strain.

EFFECT: advantageous method for producing yeast with high content of a sulphuric compound.
