FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: following is proposed: a method of determining the mutagenic activity of chemical substances, including the addition of a test strain of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisae 1-TAE-1, highly sensitive to the mutagenic action of genotoxicants, into a solution of the test substance, followed by inoculation and cultivation, determination of cytotoxicity by the ratio of grown colonies in experimental samples relative to control, determination of genotoxicity by the ratio of mutant colonies in experimental samples relative to the control, and when determining genotoxicity, the yeast strain Saccharomyces cerevisae 1-TAE-1 is added to the solution of the test substance at a concentration at which at least 80% of the cells survive, seeding and cultivation are carried out on a selective medium containing canavanine at a concentration of 80 mg/l of medium.
EFFECT: invention improves the accuracy of determining the mutagenic activity of chemicals in low concentrations.
