FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the measuring equipment, and method of estimation of the light returning ability of glass microspheres for horizontal road marking. To measure the light returning ability the glass microspheres are loaded in the optical transparent vessel. The vessel with the glass microspheres is installed between the light source and photoreceiver. The light flow from the light source acts on the glass microspheres located in the optically transparent vessel, and light intensity is measured after its passage through the layer of the glass microspheres.

EFFECT: method simplification, increased speed and accuracy of measurements.
