FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: radar station measures slant range to observed aerial objects, azimuths, elevation angles and radial velocities thereof. Interval estimates of the measured coordinates of the aerial objects are generated taking into account measurement errors thereof. A plurality of aerial objects is presented in the form of a graph of interaction thereof, the vertices of which correspond to objects and the edges reflect satisfaction of conditions of possible or reliable interaction thereof. Reliable and possible groups of objects are selected. Longer tracking of groups of aerial objects is achieved owing to that possible groups are detected earlier than reliable groups, and in case of short-term divergence of interacting aerial objects, reliable groups are not dropped from tracking right away but are transferred to the category of possible groups.

EFFECT: longer tracking of groups of aerial objects owing to earlier detection thereof.
