FIELD: radar ranging and radio navigation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the radar methods, and is designed for the identification feature in the form of the aerial target (AT) spatial dimension extraction from the AT Doppler images, evaluated by the Doppler image (DpI) frequency span. AT spatial dimension value is proposed to measure taking into account of the AT location angle. AT spatial dimension evaluation method consists in the fact that using the AT coordinate values obtained from the angular automatics channel and the distance measuring system signals, calculating the AT ground speed. Resulting ground speed is used to calculate the AT flight course angle relative to the RRS, and corresponding to the data recording interval repetition middle period range is used to calculate the AT adjusted angular velocity relative to the RRS. Based on the obtained AT flight course angle values and its turning angular velocity adjusted value, calculating the AT transverse dimension. AT transverse dimension is the spatial one projection to the transverse relative to the line of sight direction. Taking into account of the course angle value, using the derived formulas calculating used as the identification sign aerial target spatial dimension.

EFFECT: development the AT spatial dimension evaluation method by the DpI frequency span by the additional parameters considering.
