FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: claimed invention relates to method of final sterilisation of polyethylene glycol-based biodegradable insoluble hydrogels with application of radiation. Invention represents method of sterilisation of polyethylene glycol-based biodegradable insoluble hydrogel with basic structural units, bound to each other by hydrolytically degradable bonds, which includes the following stages: (a) hydrogel obtaining, (b) hydrogel solvating in protective solvent or in mixture of two or several protective solvents or in their water solutions, (c) processing of solvated hydrogel by gamma-radiation.
EFFECT: invention provides unexpected effect of N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, N,N-dimethylacetamide, N,N-dimethylformamide and 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidone, applied as protective solvent, in sterilisation of polyethylene glycol-based biodegradable insoluble hydrogel.
