SUBSTANCE: method includes splitting an image into coding units; obtaining information on splitting a conversion unit from a received bit stream; determining one or more conversion units in the coding unit using the information on splitting a conversion unit; obtaining, from the bit stream, a quantisation mode indicating which coding unit depth contains a quantisation parameter delta; determining the coding unit depth; obtaining, from the bit stream, the quantisation parameter delta based on the determination of the coding unit depth; performing reverse quantisation on the one or more conversion units using the quantisation parameter delta.
EFFECT: high efficiency of decoding high-resolution images by determining the coding unit depth according to the image data characteristics.
