FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: system comprises reflectors (5, 6), a laser range sensor (7) and a computer. Reflectors are made from a metal sheet, are painted in a light colour and have triangular (6) or wedge (5) shape. The reflectors are placed on the gripper of a container crane (2). The sensor (7) is installed on the crane and is configured to measure the distance (R) and direction (a) from the crane to the reflectors. The computer is configured to store in its memory data on relative positions and shapes of the reflectors and determine the horizontal position and warping of the load gripper (2) based on at least data on relative positions and spatial shapes of the reflectors, as well as measured distances (R) and directions (a) from the crane to the reflectors.

EFFECT: higher measurement accuracy.
