FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instruments, in particular to the quality check methods of the electric contacts. The method cab can be used for diagnostics and quality estimation of the electric contacts in the electric circuits. Essence of the invention is as follows: the electric contact is subjected to test video signal x(t). Test video signal x(t) is registered. From the electric contact the response u1(t) to the test video signal is received. The test video signal with permanent shift is re-applied. The test video signal is registered with the permitted shape instability [x(t)+Δx(t)] upon re-application. From the electric contact the response u2(t) to the second test video signal is received. Nonlinearity characteristic ε*(t) is determined. The obtained value ε*(t) is compared with ε*(t) measured for certainly known good electric contact. The contact quality is assessed according to the comparison results.

EFFECT: reduced effect of the test signal unstable parameters on the calculation result of the nonlinear characteristic of the electric contact.
