FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to power supply lines contacting current collectors of transportation vehicles. The method lies in the power supply of electric motors from an intermittent contact system through two current collectors, each of them installed at the outermost leading cars of subsurface trains or through the pantograph collector of an electric locomotive at one end of the train set and installed at the current collector of a motorless car - at the other end of the train set or at the front or rear locomotive of the railroad or quarry rail transport. The current collectors are connected in parallel to each other due to a power cable connecting electric motors at the ends of the train set. The lower, upper and lateral contact system is made intermittent, i.e. with separate areas with a gap between them, at that areas S with the contact system are made longer than a distance L between the current collectors, i.e. S>L, and the gap is a contactless area l<L. While installing a contact rail and a line of a commuter train the condition S>L>l is observed. Ends of the contact rails and lines in the contact system are bended upwards for railway roads and underground and to opposite side from the track for quarries.

EFFECT: stable power supply of electric motors for subsurface trains and railroad trains from stationary intermittent contact systems.
