FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention is a method of evaluation of drought-resistance of wheat genotypes. The method comprises culturing of grain germs on agar nutrient medium of Murashige-Skoog, comprising 2,4-D. Upon reaching by tylosis of volume of at least 125 mm3 they are cultured for 7 days in Petri dishes on a new medium of the same composition but with a lower concentration of 2,4-D and with addition of osmotic. The excitation light is passed on the fluorometer through the Petri dishes, without extraction of tylosis from them and violation of sterility in the mode of "saturating pulses" in the range of intensity sufficient to close the reaction centres of the photosystem 2. The light curves of the speed of transportation of electrons (STE) are recorded, according to the software and the fluorometer settings. After averaging the data the graph of STE dependence on the excitation light intensity is plotted. The conclusion on drought-resistance of a variety is made on the intensity of the exciting light, at which the light curve crosses the axis of abscisses: the higher the intensity of the light, the higher the drought-resistance of the sample.
EFFECT: method enables to accelerate the evaluation of drought-resistance and the selection process.
