FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention represents a method for early diagnosis of Scots pine trees based on drought resistance, based on use of callus cultures in vitro, cultivated in conditions of simulated drought (1 % NaCl) on a nutrient medium ½ MS with addition of 3 % sucrose, reduced content of vitamins (B1 – 0.5 mg/l, ascorbic acid – 0.4 mg/l, pyridoxine and PP are excluded), hormones 6-BAP (0.5 mg/l), NAA (2 mg/l), with differentiation of cultures in 10–15 days of cultivation on the basis of viability: absence of necrotic tissue – drought-resistant initial tree, 100 % necrotisation – unstable to drought.
EFFECT: invention provides simple, reliable, reliable assessment of drought resistance of Scots pine trees by using callus tissue viability in nutrient medium salinization conditions.
