FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to gastroenterology, and can be used for the detection of epithelial dysplasia of the gastric mucosa in the patients suffering atrophic gastritis or gastric adenoma. That is ensured by measuring the interferon-γ concentration in patient's blood cell supernatant after incubation with or without carcino-embryonic antigen (CEA). An index of CEA effect (CEA IE) on IFNγ production by blood cells is calculated by formula: CEA IE IFNγ=A/B, wherein A is the IFNγ concentration in the cell supernatant after the CEA incubation, B is the the IFNγ concentration in the cell supernatant without the CEA incubation. If the CEA IE IFNγ is less than 2.40 standard units, the presence of epithelial dysplasia of the gastric mucosa is stated in the patient, whereas the CEA IE IFNγ being 2.40 standard units or more, the absence of epithelial dysplasia of the gastric mucosa is stated in the patient.

EFFECT: using the given method enables the timely detection of epithelial dysplasia of the gastric mucosa (cellular atypism) and forming a risk group of developing gastric cancer.
