FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and provides a dipeptide-producing Escherichia bacterium, which is modified such that it contains DNA which encodes a protein with dipeptide-synthesising activity. The invention also relates to a method of producing a dipeptide or a salt thereof using said bacteria or using a protein with dipeptide-synthesising activity.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain dipeptides efficiently.
