FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: method of verifying operation of an integrated transponder includes generating and emitting an interrogation signal by an interrogator; receiving and re-emitting, by an external object with a certain delay imitating the propagation of the interrogation signal in space, the interrogation signal towards a responder; receiving, by the responder, the re-emitted delayed interrogation signal; processing said signal, generating and emitting, by the responder, a response signal; receiving and re-emitting, by the external object, the delayed response signal towards the interrogator; receiving the delayed response signal by the interrogator; processing the received delayed response signal by the interrogator. When receiving and re-emitting interrogation and response signals, as the external object features of the earth's surface or a passive antenna is used, located at a short distance from the responder. Imitation of propagation of signals in space is provided through artificially introduced delay in triggering emission of the interrogator and the responder, generated in the single computing device of the transponder.
EFFECT: verifying operation of an interrogator using its own responder, and operation of a responder using its own interrogator without using additional equipment or with minimal equipment.
