SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device and method for connection/disconnection of vehicle current collector (3) with/from overhead power line (1). Proposed device comprises at least one drive (9), displacing current collector (3) and at least one unit (6, 7) for image registration and analysis and for control over said drive (9) effected so that current collector (3) is connected with/disconnected from overhead power line (1). Note here that said image registration and analysis unit (6, 7) can detect said current collector (3) and overhead power line (1) and to control at least one drive (9) on the basis of received data.
EFFECT: reliable and safe automatic connection/disconnection.
