FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: method means measurement of some most informative diagnostic parameters; detection of the diagnostic parameters, which values are in the rated limits specified by the manufacturer, or are beyond the maximum and minimum rated values. In ternary system for each parameter its value is multiplied by arithmetic mean of its limit values. The obtained values are summed, and integral index of faults is determined, its value corresponds to the exact fault, including exact cylinder.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of diagnostic and reduced labour intensity of the diagnostics.
