FIELD: packaging industry.
SUBSTANCE: coating is suitable for contacting with food products and beverages. The composition of the thermosetting coating comprises a liquid carrier, a crosslinking agent, and at least 60 wt %, based on total content of resin solids, the resins based on copolyester. The glass transition temperature of the resin is from 10°C to 50°C. The frame of the resin comprises non-random distribution of alternating hard and soft segments. The hard segments provided with oligomer or polymer of the polyester formed from ingredients comprising one or more polyols and one or more dicarboxylic acids, and the soft segments are provided with aliphatic dicarboxylic acid or the diacid equivalent. The method of production of the packaging coating is described.
EFFECT: provision of the coating composition based on copolyester suitable for contacting with food products, the coating exhibits the necessary balance of flexibility, corrosion resistance, stability, resistance to cracking.
