FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalytic system, suitable for carrying out partial catalytic oxidation with short duration of contact in order to obtain synthesis gas and, possibly, hydrogen. Catalytic system includes at least two catalytic zones, in which one zone contains one or more noble metals, selected from the group, consisting of rhodium, ruthenium, iridium, palladium and platinum, and does not contain nickel, and the other zone contains nickel, to which one or more metals, selected from the group, consisting of rhodium, ruthenium, iridium, palladium and platinum, is added, with nickel-free zone being always separate but being in contact with the other nickel-containing zone.
EFFECT: invention provides high degree of raw material conversion and high selectivity with respect to synthesis-gas and H2, as well as reduction or prevention of soot formations.
