FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: anterior abdominal wall, an uterine wall and acardiac foetus's body within an umbilical cord entrance and vessel branching are punctured under ultrasonic control with using 18G needle 1.2 mm in diameter and 150 mm long. A mandrel is further removed, and an optical guide of Nd:YAG laser 0.7 mm in diameter is inserted into a needle lumen. That is followed by a coagulation procedure. The stagnation of the blood circulation is controlled by colour Doppler sonography.
EFFECT: more effective coagulation of blood vessels and a lower probability of an injury to surrounding soft tissues.
