FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: slag mix contains lime, aluminium, the fluxing material is colemanite with the following composition - 30-45% B2O3, 20-30% CaO, 3-7% SiO2 and no more than 0.2% S and magnesian flux with the composition 25-75% MgO and 10-50% CaO at the following ratio of components, wt %: colemanite 4-10, aluminium 5-20, magnesian flux 6-30, lime - the rest.
EFFECT: invention allows to improve the quality of treated metal and steadiness of periclase-carbonic lining of ladles, and also to improve environmental situation at the expense of avoidance of fluorspar additives and absence of development of process of formation of the self-decaying slags.
