FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy, in particular to the modification of the slags of the oxygen converter and steel ladle to protect against the destruction of the periclase-carbon lining of the slag belt of metallurgical units. The amount of magnesium-containing slag-forming additive is determined by calculation, determining the calculated temperature of the liquidus of the slag melt based on data on the subsolidus structure of the six-component CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-MgO-FeO-Fe2O3 system, bringing its value to the temperature of the metallurgical process, and also exclude excessive consumption of magnesium-containing slag-forming additive.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to minimize slag corrosion, increase the life of the refractory lining of the metallurgical unit using the technology of optimizing the slag regime of metallurgical smelting.
