FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. A layered titanate contains chemically bonded, anion impurity-free hydrazine, which is in the space between titanate layers. The layered titanate has the following composition: kN2H4·mA1-2O·(Ti1-qMq)(O2-wOHxFy)2-z·nH2O, where k, m, q, w, x, y and z are coefficients ranging from 0.01 to 0.5; n is an integer, 0≤n≤5; A is at least one cation from a group consisting of Na, K, Mg, Ca; M is Al or Fe.

EFFECT: method enables to obtain layered titanates for use as a solid-state source of chemically bonded hydrazine, characterised by high stability.
