FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry and can be used to produce electrode materials. The method includes placing a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) template - silane-benzophenone derivative - on the surface of the substrate; preparing a precursor solution, which includes a precursor molecule - polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) and a discotic molecule, and applying said solution onto the substrate with the SAM template thereon. The precursor molecule is then photochemically attached to the SAM template through exposure to ultraviolet radiation. The substrate is then heated in a vacuum or an inert gas to at least 450°C to obtain a graphene-containing film. The SAM template and/or precursor molecule includes one or more alkyl groups, which ensure that the c-axis of the molecule is perpendicular to the substrate.

EFFECT: obtaining a high-quality film which contains graphene directly on a substrate without mechanical peeling thereof.
