SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of controlling parking rights. The technical result is optimising the process of controlling parking rights. The method includes receiving, from each of a plurality of users, a request to issue a parking right, each request containing a unique identifier of a parking space and a number plate indicating a unique vehicle; storing each request in a centralised database; issuing a parking right to each of the plurality of users, including the expiration period of the parking right; combining the number plate of the vehicle, for which the status of the parking right is to be confirmed, and the unique identifier of the parking space where the vehicle is located; querying the centralised database by comparing the number plate with number plates stored in the database; and determining if a parking right which corresponds to the number plate of the vehicle was issued.
