SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video data encoding and decoding techniques. Disclosed is a method for motion-compensated prediction during video coding. The method includes a step of determining a video data presentation pixel block encoded in a bit stream, wherein values of said pixels have first prediction signal accuracy. The first accuracy indicates the number of bits needed to present values of said pixels. Further, the method includes determining the prediction type of said block. A first location of reference pixels in a first reference block and a second location of reference pixels in a second reference block are determined.
EFFECT: reducing the effect of round-off errors during bidirectional and multidirectional prediction by enabling control of accuracy of prediction signals.
