SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image processing techniques. An image processing method is disclosed. The method includes a step of comparing patterns, one of which is a comparison source for a target noise-cancelling pixel in a target noise-cancelling image, and the other is a pattern for each of search points which are search targets in a search form in the target noise-cancelling image. Further, the method includes removing target pixel noise using a weight coefficient in accordance with the degree of similarity between the patterns and the weighted sum of the pixel values at search points. The method also includes calculating a boundary direction using the target noise-cancelling image; establishing the search form, wherein the number of search points along the direction perpendicular to the boundary direction is less than the number of search points along the boundary direction using the calculated boundary direction as an index used for delimiting the search form.

EFFECT: simpler process of removing target pixel noise.
