FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to controlling the lighting sources. The configuration unit (1) is operatively connected to the transmitter (4) and a plurality of receivers (6) and is made with the ability to evaluate the location of the static element (8), based on a sounding signal (5) transmitted by the transmitter, and based on the return signal (7) received through the plurality of receivers. The return signal is generated by the reflection of the sounding signal from the static element. In addition, the configuration unit is made with the ability to configure the sensor (2) for detecting the presence of the target object (9), based on the evaluated location of the static element.
EFFECT: providing an improved, more effective configuration of the sensor.
