FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method of manufacturing a contact lens, comprising the steps of: (i) adding the reactive ingredients into the casting mould, wherein the reactive components comprise (a), at least, one hydroxy-containing silicone component having an average molecular weight of about 200 to about 15,000 g/mol, and (b), at least, one polyethylene glycol with monoester and methacrylate terminal groups, having an average molecular weight of about 200 to about 10 000 g/mol; (ii) curing the reactive components within the mould to form a contact lens; and (iii) removing the contact lens from the said casting mould.
EFFECT: reducing the mechanical damage while manufacturing contact lenses.
